Deceit Lust Fate
Martin stood by the large French window gazing at his own faint reflection. Outside the moon was shining on its full. Averting his eyes from the shadows to the blood-stained notebook on the chaise longue, he picked it up once again and sank into the seat. He opened to the page marked with a bookmark and started reading again.

I felt him grab my arm and yank me through the corridor. I offered no resistance as he led me through the hallway to his room. His footsteps echoed throughout the hallway as I tried hard to keep from falling. He slammed the door and whipped me around to face him. I was growing breathless. He ripped his shirt and leaned closer. His bare chest rose and fell before me as his breathing grew labored. His eyes were animalistic and wild. He gaze was fierce which bore into me to the core. It was then that I realized that I was terrified. I had never seen him this angry before. He neither blinked nor moved – he stood over me gazing at me as if daring me to turn away.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered.
“You like flirting. So c’mon. Flirt with me.” His tone was deep and foreboding.
“I…I think you may have misunderstood what…” My words trailed silence when his fist banged on the door on the side of my head.
“You knew I was watching you and you knew how I would react to that. And I suppose that was only the beginning.” He showed no sign of trying to hide the malice and the disgust in his voice.
At that moment I knew my plan was a bad idea.
“I’m sorry. Please forgive me.” I rasped as tears started welling up. “I was foolish. Please forgive me”
He struggled for a second – then abruptly turned away.
“You will not marry me. I know you will never tell me how you feel for me. But at least show me what you feel. At least do me that little favor. For me it has always been you and no other. Not even Martin.”
He stood still with his back to her, as if considering the thought for a moment, as I watched him.
“You cannot treat me like this. You get that… You can’t.” I screamed.
“Yes. I can.” He snapped, “Yes. I can. And I will treat you in whatever way I want.”
He paced up to me and pinned me to the door.
“You are a desire I can’t run from, Jiny.” His sultry voice whispered to me, “You are like a drug to me. I won’t hide that I want you. I want you more than anything now than ever. You’re like an addiction to me. But we can’t be together. Not now. Not ever. You will never see me again after tonight.”
I fought the tears from surfacing any further, trying to find my words. “You are to leave anyways, are you not? I’m not scared, Simon. I want it to be you.”
He reached his hands up and brushed a lock of hair off my cheek. His fingers trailed along the side of my neck down to the waist. I wanted nothing more than for him to take me. The power of his presence made me tremble as the overwhelming potency of the air around us grew thick and intoxicating. I couldn’t help thinking about his body pushing up against me. As he ran is hand along the side I couldn’t help letting out a small whimper.
“Jiny, you have never kissed before, have you?” He whispered.
I didn’t quite understand at first what he meant. “I….I…” I stammered.
“Sshhhh,” he whispered as he leaned in and kissed me. I slid my hand over his bare chest and wrapped around his neck. He didn’t move. His hands remained on the door.
It must have been apparent to him that I had never kissed a man before. At least not like that. Because he mumbled through the kiss “You have never kissed before.” His lips grazed my neck so softly as if being caressed by a passing breeze. He then trailed his lips to my ear and whispers “And now you have!”
My fantasies of him grew more intense. My moans grew heavy and long.
“Hold me, Simon. Touch me. Love me.” My voice was a soft panting.

Martin tore the pages off the notebook and lit them with a lighter. Then he lit the notebook and tossed it aside. He turned to Jiny – gagged, bound and bleeding she sat at the corner staring at him with wide eyes filled with terror. He had shot Simon and there was no doubt that he would kill her too. He had already broken her nose and slapped her a thousand times before binding her.
“After all these years. Really, Jin? Was I that unworthy?”
He averted his eyes from her to Simon – lying dead on the bed covered in his own blood.
“And I thought you loved me.” He scoffed. He mused at the thought as a faint smile of spread across his lips.
The siren of approaching police vans pierced the otherwise silence outside. He plopped on the bed staring at the flames as they built up consuming the furniture and curtains in the VIP suite. His thoughts ran amok. He was prepared to kill her. Yet now that the time has come he felt a hesitation. He closed his eyes and buried his face in his palms.
He saw images of himself and Jiny in the New Year Party ball dancing under the starry roof, of Jiny laughing at him when he fell while skating, of her in her scarlet dress during his sister’s wedding, of her during the cruise to Rhodes islands, of her during the first night when they made love.
The only other sound in the room – besides the crackle of the burning wood – was that of Jiny mumbling and pleading through the gag and struggling to get up. Finally as the siren approached nearer, Martin got up. He dipped a finger in the blood of the dead man.
Walking over to her he knelt before her. “I loved you, Jin.” He said as he touched her lips with the bloody finger and traced them. “I really did. If only you had told me once what you wanted.”
Jiny stared at him in horror, knowing there was no escaping her fate, which was about to bring her a horrible end. Tears streamed down her face as she submitted herself to her impending fate.
“Ssshhhhh, Jin. Don’t cry. Please don’t. Smile please. Smile for me Jiny. Please smile for me. You can do that much for me, can’t you?” He raved. “We should not say goodbyes with tears. It’s a bad omen. You and I are going to a better place. I hope you’d make me a better wife than you were in this life. No. I know you will make a better wife.” He smiled at her.
Walking over to the bed, he picked the gun and knelt before her at a distance so that she could see him properly.
“Jiny, I love you and I will forever love you.” He pointed the gun at his head and pulled the trigger. Jiny stared at his lifeless eyes till they were consumed by the flames which, thereafter, engulfed her.
