Now that the H.S results are out and most of you must be very confused as what next now? Which course to take and which subject to opt as major. Lots of advices must be pouring in from all corners I am sure. There must also have been a few arguments at home. Dad must be saying Agriculture, Mom wants Law and some uncle must have come up with some brilliant idea! But in all these have you ever ponder what your heart propels to? What you actually want to study. I am not saying to disobey or disrespect your parents or relatives. But then it is you who will have to face the music out there. You will have to like the subject you have opted for, so that you feel interested in your studies and come up with good marks and a good career eventually. So here’s a few do’s and don’ts before you actually make up your mind to study a particular course or subject.

Do’s

1 Always be clear about your goals and aim’s in life.

2. Try to analyse your strong points and weakness about a particular subject.

3 You might like a particular subject but that does not necessarily mean that you will be good   at the particular subject.

4 Choose a subject you feel you are good at and not just because your friend has opted for it.

5 Always keep options open while choosing a particular subject, course or institution. If plan A fails for some reason you can atleast choose from plan B. It is always good than dropping a year.

Don’ts

1. Never get bogged down by peer or parental pressure. Remember you are the best judge of your own abilities and potentials and potentials. Try to make your parents understand.

2. Never choose a course or subject thinking about the money or glamour attached to it. Instead always choose a subject you think you actually like and can do well. Success is bound to come.

3 Do not follow the crowd. It is always better to lead a small team than to follow a large crowd. Try to create your own unique identity.

4.  Do not be rigid with your career plans. It is very likely that everything might not fall into place as planned by you. So, never hesitate to opt for plan B if plan A fails. Remember life is not always about what you want but what you have.

5 Last but not the least never lose focus from your goals.
